Mercury-Retrograde.net was registered on September 12th, 2006. It's hosted by Aruba.it. Ironically, that would make the domain a Virgo, so its ruler should be... yes, Mercury.

I used to have a personal domain before: Lovegood.net. In the end, I let it die because while I still love Luna Lovegood, I'm not so much into Harry Potter anymore. So I wanted a pretty domain with shiny words and a hyphen. I ended up buying MRnet.

Mercury retrograde. I chose my domain name from an astrologic concept.

"If observed from one night to the next, however, a planet appears to move from West to East against the background stars most of the time. Occasionally, however, the planet's motion will appear to reverse direction, and the planet will, for a short time, move from East to West against the background constellations. This reversal is known as retrograde motion."

In astrology, "a planet is described as retrograde when it appears to be moving backwards through the zodiac. This traditional concept arises in the illusory planetary motion created by the orbital rotation of the earth, with relation to other planets in our solar system. Planets are never actually retrograde or stationary, they just seem that way, due to this optical illusion."

Mercury as a planet rules thought and communication.

"Mercury retrograde gives rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. And all of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray, or awry."

Some people call it the Murphy's Law of astrology.

However, Mercury retrograde, besides the regular disasters, can also help a lot with introspection. It's ironic, but things like meditation or writing or doing artistic stuff are good things to do when Mercury is "going backwards".

Since this is my personal space of sorts and my artsy-fartsy domain (opposed to the other two, focused on animanga stuff), and Mercury is really important in my astral chart, and the concept of Mercury in retrograde has always been intriguing to me, I thought it'd be a nice name with a cool ring to it ^_^
